Educational Management and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG): Integrating Post-Mining Reclamation into Vocational Curricula in Central Kalimantan

The mining industry in Indonesia, particularly in Central Kalimantan, has contributed significantly to regional economic growth. However, mining activities also generate environmental degradation, including deforestation, soil damage, and water pollution. This condition highlights the importance of post-mining reclamation as a sustainable environmental recovery effort. Vocational High Schools (SMK) that focus on mining and extractive industries play a strategic role in preparing human resources capable of supporting sustainable mining practices. This article examines the integration of post-mining reclamation competencies into vocational curricula as an effort to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Using a qualitative descriptive approach through literature review and policy analysis, the study finds that curriculum integration can strengthen students’ environmental awareness, technical competence, and readiness to meet industry demands. Furthermore, collaboration between schools, industries, and government institutions is essential to ensure curriculum relevance and sustainability-oriented vocational education.
