The rapid growth of the creative industry requires employees to demonstrate innovative work behavior (IWB) to sustain organizational competitiveness. Individual factors such as self-efficacy and contextual factors such as inclusive leadership are considered crucial in shaping career sustainability, which ultimately drives innovative behavior. This study aims to analyze the influence of self-efficacy and inclusive leadership on career sustainability and their implications for innovative work behavior, while also examining the mediating role of career sustainability and the moderating effect of age demographics. A quantitative approach was applied using purposive sampling of 190 employees from the creative industry in the Jabodetabek area. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results reveal that self-efficacy positively influences career sustainability but does not directly influence innovative work behavior. Inclusive leadership has a significant positive effect on both career sustainability and innovative work behavior. Moreover, career sustainability significantly influences innovative work behavior and mediates the relationship between self-efficacy and innovative work behavior, but does not mediate the relationship between inclusive leadership and innovative work behavior. Age demographics were found not to moderate the relationship between career sustainability and innovative work behavior. This research contributes to organizational behavior literature and provides practical recommendations for creative industry organizations to enhance employees' self-efficacy and inclusive leadership to foster sustainable innovation.
