This article analyzes social entrepreneurship for older persons as a community based empowerment strategy in Jatisari Village, Tanjungsari District, Sumedang Regency. The study is grounded in the empirical findings of descriptive qualitative research on elderly empowerment and is interpreted through empowerment theory, social work practice, and social entrepreneurship perspectives. Data were obtained through interviews, observation, documentation, and triangulation involving older persons, families, community actors, village stakeholders, and a local productive enterprise. The findings show that older persons possess social capital, productive skills, and economic experience, but their capacity has not been systematically connected to local economic units, village programs, training, digital literacy, or market access. Batik Umi May and other home-based micro enterprises represent potential entry points for elderly social entrepreneurship because they combine productive activity, social participation, cultural value, and collective support. The article concludes that elderly social entrepreneurship must be developed as an inclusive ecosystem supported by social workers, village government, families, local enterprises, and cross-sector partnerships.
